GAUDI
GAUDI
After the cathedral, we headed to Parc Guell, a fun area with lots of Gaudi architecture. Here the kids are climbing a rock wall...I’ll give you both pictures for the perspective.
After our excursion, we returned to our hotel for a fantastic meal of tapas. We had fried artichokes (MUCH better than the other night), smoked eggplant in a balsamic reduction with chopped peanuts, crab salad, mini shrimp in guacamole, shortrib ravioli, ham croquettes, shaved pork with parmesan and capers, and cod with a garlic cream sauce. The last 2 I didn’t care for, but the others were delicious! Remind us to make the traditional bread appetizer here for you. Rub garlic on fresh toast, then rub the juice of a cut tomato, drizzle olive oil, and sprinkle kosher salt. Yum!
This music is a reference to the quantity of sugar enjoyed on this vacation, in all of its regional variations...here are the girls by the pool tasting some sweets.
Day 21
Sagrada Familia & Parc Guell
Friday, July 1, 2011
Girls kissing Daddy by the pool. We love the sculpture in the background....looks like a ball is going to fall of the roof. Hard to see here, but really neat.
Sagrada Familia from the street. You can see that it is still under construction, and has been for over a hundred years (Gaudi spent 40 years on it and died in 1926).
Below, a few pictures from Parc Guell
