Bye London
Bye London
We had a relaxing day today. The girls played at home in the morning while I caught some Wimbledon on TV and started to pack. When Chris came home early, we went to tea together. Knowing we were in store for several sweet courses, we didn’t eat lunch beforehand. I’m not sure it helped- we all left stuffed anyway.
Chris took the girls to fly a kite in the park. There wasn’t much of a breeze, but they did get to feed some pigeons. Chris was accosted by a fearless squirrel that actually climbed up his leg. EWWW! I’m very glad I did not witness that. While they were out, I snuck in some more Wimbledon....
We had a wonderful finish to our London vacation at our friends the Wesselys’ home. On arrival we were welcomed by Poppy’s sign, “Welcome Americans!” The girls became fast friends, first jumping on the fantastic trampoline in the backyard and then dressing up in princess costumes together (with lovely accessories to match). Poppy, opting out of the princess extravaganza, instead gave a lovely concert on her cello. All of us enjoyed a delicious meal together and great company before saying goodbye.
