Paris
Paris
We woke up EARLY this morning, but it was no problem because we were all excited to head to Paris! AND to have Daddy with us all weekend. We took the Eurostar direct to the center of Paris. Our hotel here is exquisite, and Mommy could probably spend the whole weekend just lolling around here eating the chocolate croissants and fresh juice. BUT there are places to go.
We are right across from the Jardins des Tuileries, so that was our first stop today. Right away we discovered a beautiful carousel, and an incredible playground (see photos at left). The kids didn’t want to leave, but we thought we should take more of a stroll on our first day. Unfortunately, it started to rain so we took cover in a bateau mouche, one of the boats that rides up and down the Seine. We had wonderful views of the Eiffel Tower from the river, which was very exciting for the girls. Amory thought it wasn’t quite as tall as she imagined, but Riley thought it looked just right.
After a quick bite, we hopped back on the Metro so we could check into our hotel room. We were greeted by fresh caramels, and a three-tiered plate of candy (see background at left), chocolate covered marshmallow bears, and cookies. In addition, the girls were spoiled with cute plush dogs and slippers.
Needless to say, the girls are in heaven here. We went to a little restaurant down the street for dinner, which was nice, but the girls were laser-focused on dessert. Chocolate ice cream for Amory and profiteroles for Riley. A sweet end to a very sweet day!

This was our first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower... the girls were so excited to happen upon it on our walk!
