LEGOLAND
LEGOLAND
Today the Gordon Girls braved the rail system to visit the Buxbaums. We had a little treat on the train, in that everyone seemed to be in fancy costumes. As it turned out, our train was headed in the direction of Royal Ascot, so most of the passengers were in top hats and tails, dresses and hats. We especially enjoyed the hats!
When we arrived at our stop, Hilary (Mary Beth’s childhood friend) and her twins had a great surprise in store: a trip to Legoland! Legoland is a wonderful amusement park geared toward young children. This park had various themes: pirates, ancient egypt, the jungle, transportation. Each of the themes had a number of rides to enjoy. Some of our favorites were the “Learn to Drive,” the Rollercoasters, and the flume (mostly because it was fun to see Mommy get SOAKED). We also all loved the amazing sculptures made entirely of Legos. Most impressive was “miniland,” scale versions of many European cities. We had a lot of fun catching up with our friends, who are loving life as expats.
We made it home just in time to meet Chris, who was hoping for an English Pub dinner experience. We found several right around the corner from us, but they were extremely crowded. We will have to try again another night.

At top, here is Riley “getting her driver’s license.” Amory was a very careful driver. Below, Jaden and Alexa show us the miniature Lego-London. It even had a mechanized Changing of the Guard!
