TEA FOR THREE
TEA FOR THREE
Daddy had to go to work, so it was a Gordon Girls day. We started off the morning by walking in a new direction to see what we might find. Nearly 3 miles later (!!) we found ourselves in an area right near Hamely’s, an enormous toy store. The bubbles blowing outside enticed us into the 5 floor emporium, and we were magnetically drawn to the 3rd floor, where all things pink reside. The girls agonized over what to choose for one small treat. Riley picked a Barbie doll relatively quickly (I can’t help the eyeroll), and Amory was torn between a variety of princess cosmetics (there go the eyes again) and some extremely cool arts and crafts supplies. She ended up with a neat set of markers that smell and change color. Both girls eagerly stepped up to the counter for hair braiding (Riley) and nail painting (Amory). I’m not sure this was a British experience, but it was certainly fun.
After our fun morning and long walk, we decided to relax over tea at our hotel. This was our first British tea! We cozied into comfy chairs, picked fruity herbal teas, and sampled tea sandwiches (Amory’s favorite - cucumber and cream cheese, Riley’s favorite - egg salad), scones and crumpets (everyone loved the lemon curd, jam, and clotted cream!). Believe it or not, they served- and we ate- cake too!
